    Wow, this food is really good! What a pleasant surprise. The Billy Cuban sandwich was THE best Cuban sandwich I've ever had (not that I'm an expert). The pork was so well cooked and so tender. The whole sandwich was well seasoned and warm throughout. The bread was perfect. I will use this Cuban sandwich to measure all other Cuban sandwiches I may have in the future.

    As for the other food and drinks, if you enjoy margaritas, go for it. You will not be disappointed. I tried three of the six salsas at the salsa bar - all very good, especially the roasted tomatillo. It had a great flavor and a little kick. I will be back to try the other items on the menu although really that Billy Cuban was so good I may just get it again.

    Prices were reasonable and the quality of the food top notch. Staff was friendly, made us feel welcomed, very knowledgeable about the menu. The owner and chef actually came out to our table and asked us if we were enjoying our dinner. What a nice touch.

    I live between Burnsville and Spruce Pine and for what it's worth, this is my favorite restaurant in either town.

    Burritos or Billy The Cuban Sandwich for me usually.

    Great place to eat delicious food!   America's menu is wonderful.  We ate here twice during our five day stay in Bakersville.  Definitely worth the trip down the mountain.  Mom and I had a veggie plate and got the husband a Cuban to go.  He loved it so much we visited again.  I had the Maui tacos and Hubby had the Cuban to eat in.  Jim hails from Orlando FL and swore he had not had a Cuban that great since he left Florida.  My tacos were out of this world!  Worth the stop!

    Would definitely recommend if you're in Spruce Pine! They hand make their own tortillas and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. Definitely try their sauce bar, which offers  variety of their homemade sauces (careful with the jalapeño sauce). We had the ABCP, tamales, and tacos. All were excellent!
